Bel Canto Duo - WINNER for Best New Artist in Music for the 17th Annual Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards.
NEW COMMISSION:
Darci Griffith Gamerl & David Downing are currently writing a new multi-movement work paired with pre-selected works by Willa Cather. The Willa Cather Foundation has commissioned the work with the premiere performance taking place during the conference - June 3rd in Red Cloud, Nebraska.
Nebraska Flatwater at Omaha's Gallery 1516 has received rave reviews. Bel Canto Duo's, Sacred Waters, headlined the immersive art installation. The work also featured the music of Mannheim Steamroller, another Nebraska-based group. The focus of the installation the importance of preserving the aquifer of Nebraska - and highlighting the peaceful beauty of the flora & fauna of Nebraska.
The Seven Directions has been selected as a finalist in the chamber music composition division of The American Prize. The work will be featured on The Bel Canto Duo's upcoming CD. Release date: June 2023
